Who is your audience? What are your business goals?
How will your online presence support your goals?
How will you measure success?
Great designs start with good research. Research isn’t magic– good designers ask simple questions so your online presence will be clear and effective. Whether for a web site or application, using tools like personas, use cases, and user experience testing will help reach your target audience and create happy customers.
Good developers write flexible code, thinking ahead and testing thoroughly on a variety of web browsers, operating systems and mobile devices. You can see my public code at Github, including some WordPress plug-ins I wrote, or see some website designs where I put these approaches into practice below. Contact me to find out more.
Corvallis Zen Circle
I built Corvallis Zen Circle a clean, uncluttered website meant to embody the teachings of Zen– provide what is needed without unnecessary distractions.
Visitors can see what events are happening each week, sign up for weekly announcements, become a member, or donate to the organization all from their mobile phone, tablet or desktop. Visit the site
High Integrity Design
I built myself a new portfolio and resume website using WordPress, the Genesis Framework and responsive-mobile design. The site is based on a minimalist aesthetic and presents an effective interface on mobile phones, tablets and desktops. You’re looking at it!
Elmaro Vineyard produces wonderful, award-winning wines– but the experience they give their visitors is even better. They are a family-run business who places their customers first.
I built them a desktop site that expresses their personality, and gives visitors a sense of what the tasting experience will be like in person. A blog, list of upcoming events and a link to their Facebook page helps keep visitors up-to-date and engaged. Visit the site
Burcham’s Metals has been committed to resource stewardship since 1960, specializing in purchasing scrap metals for recycling. I teamed up with outstanding local designer Jeff Jimerson to build them a first-rate website. Jeff handled the design and I built a custom WordPress site to meet their needs precisely.
The site educates visitors about recycling and associates the Burcham’s brand with going green. Though it was built several years ago, it’s still going strong. Visit the site
Seattle Unity Church
Seattle Unity Church is a welcoming spiritual community where the truth in all genuine spiritual paths is honored. I built them a site that extends the feeling of being at a Sunday service to the web, so they could reach out to more people in need of spiritual nourishment.
The site included outstanding images of people enjoying services, an events calendar and an online donations form to increase the feeling of community and of belonging to something great. The site served the Church well for years before being recently redesigned.
